NEWS

With our extended break here at last, here are some things you should watch out for from Ola Bands! 1. Summer Mail Out - For all current members of the Ola Marching Band, a summer mail out will be sent directly to you! This mail out contains important information pertaining to our band camp (detailed schedule, what to pack, useful tips). If you have not received anything within the next couple weeks feel free to contact Manson, Mac, or Misty! 2. The OMB Fitness Challenge - To motivate our students to stay active this summer we have created a challenge for all sections to partake in. Students earn points by doing any type of physical activity... The prize? We will have to wait for band camp to see! Marching Band Leadership is coordinating this challenge via GroupMe. 3. Continue the Work! - No matter the class or group our students are in with the Ola Band Program, we hope all continue to feed their passion for music and performance. Attend concerts, open mic nights, practice daily, play with friends - make your routine FUN and REFRESHING!

4. Relax, refresh, decompress - we will see you in the fall semester of 2019!

Here are the key take-away's from this years band banquet!

1. "TRUE NORTH" - OMB 19' In the reveal/concept trailer we were given an inside look as to what direction the OMB would go next. With musical selections ranging from classic to obscure, there is no doubt 2019 will be another exciting chapter for the marching band.

2. New YouTube Channel / New Website / New SoundCloud

Ever wanted to look back to a prior performance? Ola Bands are opening the door for just that by totally revamping their presence online - make sure follow, like, favorite, and subscribe!

3. Goodbye to Senior Students & Parents

As no surprise to anybody - this year marked another AMAZING senior class. The seniors were celebrated, a special tribute to Doug & Clif was shared, and a final goodbye from Mr. Manson and Mr. Mac capped the night. With 2018 in the books, another batch of students & parents bookended their band career that began in the 6th grade.

4. 2018 Was Awesome - 2019 is Upon Us!

The concert programs earned consistent superior ratings at LGPE (for the second year in a row), the marching band placed 6th in a BOA regional, and the Winterguard made finals in a WGI regional. 2018 was truly a landmark year for the Ola Band program - but 2019 seems to be yet another. In 2019 Ola Bands will be competing on the national stage yet again at Western Carolina University for the "Tournament of Champions." More information to come on that, among other very exciting opportunities for the next school year across the entire program! Stay tuned!

Go ahead and check out all of the pages - make sure they work (we're not web designers here, ya know) Stay tuned for after the banquet....
