OHS Percussion I Class - Marching Battery in Fall
OHS Percussion II Class - Front Ensemble in Fall
Ola High School offers two seperate percussion classes. Percussion I Class is the fall marching band battery and Percussion II Class is the fall marching band front ensemble. In the spring both classes work on fundamentals, techniques, and basic percussion pedagogy.
Ola High School opened in August 2006, and the Ola High School Percussion Ensemble was founded in January 2008. The ensemble's mission is to expose students to both traditional and cutting-edge percussion ensemble literature, encouraging exploration and experimentation in the world of percussion. The group is directed by Todd Manson, Ola High School Director of Bands, and assisted by Bo Sodders, Associate Director of Bands. The Ola High School Percussion Ensemble performs numerous community concerts throughout the year and was the featured guest performing group at the 2010 Percussive Arts Society's Georgia Day of Percussion.
